Rise of Digital Banking
The Bhandara District Central Co-Op Bank has faced a number of challenges back in 2008 and had a hard time keeping up with the technology advancements that were taking place at the time owing to the absence of a technical consultant. To be precise, out of the 39 branches of the BDCC, 29 were manual and only 10 were on TBA with CASA accounting being the only section which was computerized.
The hurdles caused by the absence of modern methodology using technology had a damaging effect on BDCC’s growth as they were unable to efficiently face the rising demand of digital services from their customers who have supported the Bank over the years. Within a span of two years, from 2008 – 2010, ENX Digital took up the responsibility of helping BDCC curb its operational inefficiencies by full computerization of all branches along with Head Office modules like shares, payroll, etc. Followed by the conversion of all TBA Branches to CBS mode from 2012 – 2013. Established a Data Center for Bhandara at Bhandara with DR Site at Reliance IDC, Hyderabad. All BDCC Branches were connected through BSNL Leased Lines & broadband as backup connectivity. Several challenges were faced during this process as a number of branches were located in rural areas, far from the central head office. These branches were then connected through extensive discussions regarding feasibility with several ISP’s. Later on branch connectivity was shifted from Leased Lines to MPLS which offered a much higher level of security & cost optimization.
Further advancements followed going live on CBS, ATMs were established at 9 branches in 2014. Subsequently 11 more branches were set up with ATMs in the year 2016. In the year 2018 modification of CBS Software with Head Office Modules & all add-on modules took place which led to the rise of digital banking and services to its customers operations ENX Digital is currently working on completely digitizing the customer experience through cloud-based web applications.
